Be still and know that I AM God

Hey guys!

I’m not sure if there are many of you out there like me but stopping, reflecting, rejuvenating, refreshing etc do not come naturally to me. STOPPING does not come naturally to me.

What is God saying?

Personally I have a thousand things on my mind almost all the time, not even joking – rarely does my mind shut off; there are 10’s of to-do lists in my head and it can become so easy to miss out on hearing God’s precious, unwavering voice.

But God isn’t dead and He isn’t quiet either – He speaks daily. He knows our schedules, He knows our commitments, our timetables – everything. The question is: are we making time to stop and listen to what He has to say or are we busy running around, ticking things off our to-do lists, ignoring Him; shutting our ears to His voice and trying to be ‘productive’. What is God saying?

“Be still, and know that I am God!”

(Psalm 46:10) another translation says “cease striving”.. Stop. If God is truly God then surely nothing else matters than acknowledging Him and hearing His voice.

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28)

“Yes, my soul, find rest in God: my hope comes from Him.” (Psalm 62:5)

I pray we all learn to sit at His feet, be like Mary in this season (from the Mary and Martha story), put everything else on hold for a bit, and draw from His well. Because from this place of rest and seeking God you will gain understanding, peace, joy, healing, strength.. He will rejuvenate your soul; He gives the most electrifying CPR’s – body, soul and spirit.

“But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.”

(‭‭John‬ ‭4:14‬)

Isn’t that amazing? He is the water, He is the very life – His Spirit. Whatever storm is raging within or around you, silence the doubts and take some time out today to drink from His well; stop and ask Him:

“Jesus, what are you saying to me today? I want to know… I’m here, I’m listening.”
